AMMAN — Jordan’s 14 main dams are 32 per cent full, due to the recent rainfall and snow in the past 24 hours, Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abul Saud said on Wednesday.
According to a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, these 14 dams can hold up to 336 million cubic metres of water, in total.
Abul Saud also noted that the latest depression also raised the Kingdom’s cumulative rainfall in all regions to 3.9 billion cubic metres, around 48 per cent of the long-term seasonal annual rainfall average of 8.1 billion cubic metres.
