Queen Rania to attend fifth annual teacher’s forum at Dead Sea

AMMAN — The Teacher Skills Forum 2019 will be held between March 8 and 10, under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania, the Queen Rania Teachers Academy (QRTA) announced in a statement on Tuesday.

The fifth annual regional forum will take place in the Conference Convention Centre at the Dead Sea, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

CEO of QRTA Haif Banayan said that 2019’s conference will have a new “exciting” theme under the banner “Agile minds, turning tides”, adding that the theme keeps pace with current developments.

In a world of a globalisation and rapid technological, economic and social advancements, the future belongs to those who are truly capable of adapting to new variables and new circumstances, Banayan said, adding that our schools, classrooms, teachers and curricula must create engaging environments.

Speakers from universities and educational institutions will discuss the forum’s theme through 142 workshops and 11 events.

A total of 200 teachers from Jordanian public schools are also participating in the gathering, according to Mary Tadros, QRTA academic programmes’ adviser.

About 20 countries are taking part in the forum, which will cover early childhood learning, digital literacy, Internet culture, critical thinking, rules for the Internet, education for learning and educational leadership, she added.

Organised by the QRTA in partnership with the International Baccalaureate, the forum was created to provide teachers from the Arab world with creative strategies and innovative teaching techniques, according to the statement.
