Queen calls for expanding education excellence awards

AMMAN — Her Majesty Queen Rania chaired the Queen Rania Award for Excellence in Education (QRAEE) board of trustees’ annual meeting on Sunday to discuss the association’s achievements and future plans.

The Queen highlighted the importance of developing the association’s awards by widening appreciation for excellence and innovation, according to a statement released by Her Majesty’s office.

Queen Rania also encouraged plans to establish an award for excellence in early childhood education, and called for creating ongoing activities for the awardees.

QRAEE Chairman Izzedine Katkhuda thanked Her Majesty for her continued support and explained that the award’s accomplishments have been in line with the association’s goals since its launch.

QRAEE Director Lubna Tuqan gave a presentation on the association’s strategic goals for the next five years, which include expanding the award’s categories and engaging the winners in activities that benefit their communities and highlight their skills.

The award’s strategy aims to create a wider positive impact in the education sector and link its future plans with the recommendations of the National Strategy for Human Resource Development, while building effective partnerships that reinforce social responsibility and competitiveness among educators, according to the statement.

Every year, the association awards outstanding teachers, school principals and counselors who have made exceptional contributions to their professions in Jordan.
