AMMAN — Airport International Group announced on Wednesday that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 726,635 passengers (PAX) in February, the highest figure ever recorded for the month, marking a 7.4 per cent increase compared with February 2024.

QAIA also recorded 5,724 aircraft movements (ACM), reflecting a 6.1 per cent increase, while cargo volume stood at 5,029 tonnes, down 23.5 per cent from the same period last year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported

For the first two months of 2025, QAIA handled 1,511,627 passengers, a 10.2 per cent increase year-on-year. Aircraft movements reached 11,785, rising 5.6 per cent, while cargo handling declined by 23.2 per cent to 9,970 tonnes.

Airport International Group CEO Nicolas Deviller highlighted the significance of the record-breaking figures, noting "This new milestone reflects the trust and confidence of passengers worldwide who choose QAIA as their gateway. The recent addition of Libyan Wings to our airline network has further enhanced our connectivity".

He added that the sustained growth in passenger and aircraft movement figures reinforces QAIA’s role as Jordan’s primary aviation hub.

"Building on our recent recognition as the ‘Most Enjoyable Airport in the Middle East’ by Airports Council International World for the second time, we remain committed to providing world-class services and ensuring a seamless travel experience for all passengers," he said.
