AMMAN — Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) on Sunday received the first chartered plane from Romania, which carried 134 tourists, inaugurating a tourist air route between Amman and Bucharest, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Tourism Minister Nayef Fayez said that the launch of the air route, which will include weekly trips until the end of 2022, will help increase the number of tourists to Jordan.

The launch of the tourist route is a culmination of efforts exerted by the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) to attract low-cost, chartered flights to Amman and Aqaba, according to JTB General Director Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat.
