Public urged to exercise caution as chilly, rainy weather forecast for weekend

AMMAN — The Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Thursday urged the public to exercise caution and to stay away from low-lying and flood-prone areas, according to a ministry statement

In light of the weather conditions expected by Thursday night, the ministry urged the public to protect their water meters by covering them with warm material to ensure they will not be damaged if temperatures fall below 0°C.

The ministry also urged the public to make use of rainwater instead of connecting rainwater gutters to sewage networks, in order to avoid clogging that leads to flooding.

The ministry also invited the public to contact the ministry’s unified number via 117116 to file any complaints.
