Public holiday announced for Prophet Mohammad’s birthday

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Tuesday announced that all ministries, government departments and public institutions will observe a holiday marking Prophet Mohammad’s birthday next Tuesday, October 19.

Prophet Mohammad was born on the 12th day of Rabi I, according to the Islamic lunar calendar. The premier in an official statement released on Tuesday stressed that all official institutions should highlight the "noble" occasion, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
