PSD launches ‘No to Community Violence’ forum

AMMAN — The Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Tuesday launched the Community Security Forum titled “No to Community Violence” at Al Hussein Cultural Centre in Amman.

Part of a series of initiatives aimed at raising awareness, the objective of the forum is to strengthen community security and peace by addressing different forms of violence, understanding their causes and consequences, and working towards combating this phenomenon.

Organised by the PSD’s Media and Community Police Department, the event witnessed the participation of high-ranking officials from various ministries and representatives from religious groups, academia, youth organisations and civil society institutions, according to a PSD statement. The forum marked the beginning of a series of seminars, meetings, and specialised workshops aimed at combating violence and increasing awareness.
