PSD chief visits Residency and Borders Department

AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on Sunday visited the Residency and Borders Department, instructing officials to scale up efforts during the upcoming period to facilitate the travel of Jordanian and Palestinian pilgrims, ensuring smooth procedures and high readiness to receive visitors and returning expatriates.
Maaytah conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah's greetings to the personnel and praised the department's specialisation, emphasising its “border centres as points of entry that reflect Jordan's heritage”.
He also stressed the importance of continuous development and adoption of modern technology in residency and border procedures and highlighted the importance of qualified personnel to provide exemplary services to citizens, visitors, and residents.
He directed the provision of a suitable work environment and continued coordination over security plans with civil and military institutions. He also received a briefing on the department's progress and plans for service enhancement, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
