PSD arrests suspects accused of selling counterfeit antiques

AMMAN — The Preventive Security Department (PSD) in Rusaifa arrested two people suspected of selling antiques for JD15,000, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Public Security Department Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amir Sartawi, said that an investigation and search conducted by PSD led to two men who were stopped while driving.
When personnel searched the car, they found three golden statues, 16 golden coins and another two alleged antiques. The spokesperson said that the items were sent to the Department of Antiquities to find out whether they were counterfeit or of historical value.
