Princess Sanaa calls for further adoption of renewable energy

AMMAN — HRH Princess Sanaa Asem on Thursday called for joining efforts to increase the contribution of renewable energy to the overall energy mix to achieve economic growth and save the environment.

At a press conference, the princess, chairperson of the higher oversight committee at the Arab Renewable Energy Commission (AREC), said the Kingdom has the experts who can find ideal solutions to use renewable energy and limit the increasing costs of energy on both the economy and citizens.

AREC Secretary General Saleh Irsheidat said Jordan imports 97 per cent of its energy needs, which necessitates enhancing the use of renewable energy.
