Princess Rym honoured for efforts in intercultural exchange

AMMAN — Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Souza has presented HRH Princess Rym with a decoration in recognition for her efforts in the field of culture and intercultural exchange, a Jordan Media Institute (JMI) statement said.

The princess received the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator during the closing of the international conference “Higher Education in Emergencies” organised by the Rapid Response Mechanism platform in Lisbon on April 5.

HRH talked about the challenges faced by refugees and displaced people seeking to enroll in tertiary education, as well as about the challenges faced by host communities. She announced that JMI will provide a scholarship to one refugee fulfilling the required criteria, noting that the JMI Master’s in journalism is limited to 30 people per year.
