AMMAN — HRH Princess Muna has joined a handful of royals who have received a fellowship certificate from the Royal College of Physicians.
Princess Muna received the certificate in London earlier this month at a ceremony attended by HRH Princess Zein, according to a Royal Court statement released this week.
The Royal College of Physicians was established in London in 1518. Thousands are nominated each year to be admitted as fellows but only a few are selected, the statement said.
Since 1952, only a few royals have received this fellowship, including Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and most recently, His Majesty King Abdullah in 2006.
Also in London, Princess Muna participated in a workshop on nursing, delivering an address on the importance of the caring aspect and her continued passion for the nursing profession since the opening of the Princess Muna College of Nursing.
She also stressed the importance of developing nursing leadership, according to the statement.
During her visit, the princess met with Sir Richard Thompson, president of the Royal College of Physicians, Sir Stephen O’Brien, chairman of Barts Health and the London NHS Trust, Kay Riley, chief nurse at Barts Health and the London NHS Trust, Peter Carter, president of the Royal College of Nursing, Jane Cummings, chief nursing officer for England, Peter Morris, chief executive of Barts Health, and Ali Jawad, associate director for the Middle East and North Africa at the Royal College of Physicians.
