AMMAN — HRH Princess Basma Bint Talal, president of the Higher Committee of the Goodwill Campaign, on Wednesday delivered the campaign’s aid to several women heading households in the capital’s Jabal Al Nadeef neighbourhood.
During the event, held at the Jabal Al Nadeef Zakat and Charity Committee headquarters, Princess Basma stressed the campaign’s commitment to supporting its partners in sustaining national efforts aimed at enhancing the living and economic conditions of underprivileged families across the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Princess Basma, accompanied by several members of the campaign, highlighted that the campaign, out of its humanitarian and charitable goals, seeks to support families, especially those headed by women, by promoting self-reliance through sustainable development initiatives, including income-generating projects that provide steady livelihoods and enhance their living conditions.
The princess also expressed appreciation for the support of the campaign’s partners across national institutions, highlighting how these partnerships help the campaign achieve its noble goals and foster the values of social solidarity.
She praised the Jabal Al Nadeef Zakat and Charity Committee for its ongoing efforts to assist underprivileged families and for the dedication it shows in this important work.
Chairman of the Jabal Al Nadeef Zakat and Charity Committee Sayyed Abu Shanab said that the committee provides monthly support to some 500 families in the area and assists the children of underprivileged families in pursuing their university studies.
He noted that through its partnership with the campaign, the committee aims to create productive projects for women and provide them with training and guidance to market their products.
Princess Basma listened to a briefing on the initiatives the campaign intends to carry out in the neighbourhood in cooperation with its partners, including the distribution of essential aid to targeted families and providing remote learning cards for students preparing for General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) exams.
The princess also visited the homes of two underprivileged families in the area to check on their living conditions, as the campaign plans to provide the necessary support and improve their standards of living through comprehensive maintenance of their homes and providing them with essential supplies.
