AMMAN — HRH Princess Alia Bint Al Hussein on Saturday honoured several prominent local figures in recognition of their dedicated service to the country. This came during an Oratory Festival, organised by the Veterans' Dignity Committee to mark His Majesty King Abdullah's birthday and Veterans Day, in cooperation with the Amman Chamber of Industry, the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans and the Zarqa Cultural Forum, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Retired Gen. Ghazi Tayeb, chairman of the Veterans' Dignity Committee, highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to support the Palestinian cause. Senator Rajai Muasher underscored the significance of His Majesty's decision to designate 15 February each year as a day to honour veterans and retired military personnel. This act serves as an expression of gratitude for their sacrifices, he added.
