AMMAN — HH Prince Mired, president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), on Monday discussed with the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Director General Nizar Mheidat means of providing pharmaceutical information for people with disabilities using QR Code.

The council and administration agreed on forming a technical committee and signing a memorandum of understanding to coordinate with pharmaceutical companies to that end.

The prince highlighted the importance of the scannable QR Code for people with disabilities, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Mheidat expressed JFDA’s readiness to grant procedural advantages for companies that provide the QR service.

The service is meant to help visually and hearing-impaired people navigate medications on smart phones by directing them to videos with accessible content.
