AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan on Monday visited the Airports Security and Protection Directorate, where he was received by the assistant for administration and human resources to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the director of the directorate.
In the presence of high-ranking officers from the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), Prince Hassan was briefed by the director on the directorate’s training programmes, operational and logistical plans, future strategies, and assigned duties, according to a JAF statement.
The prince and the attendees observed a training session that included light weapons live-fire drills and security operations simulating threats to aircraft and airport security.
The exercises also covered countering acts of unlawful interference aboard aircraft, securing a safe zone for hostage rescue, ensuring passenger safety, and evacuating casualties.
Prince Hassan commended the capabilities of the directorate’s personnel in handling security threats that could compromise the safety of passengers and workers within aircraft and airports.
The directorate plays a “pivotal” role in enhancing aviation security and protecting airports and their affiliated facilities.
By implementing inspection and security measures in accordance with the highest approved standards, and in coordination with competent authorities, the directorate contributes to maintaining passenger safety, securing aviation facilities, and supporting the national security framework.
