AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan on Tuesday held a meeting with President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, who is currently visiting the Kingdom.

The two spoke on the crucial need to collaborate in tackling pressing regional and global challenges, most notably, climate change. They also underscored the importance of focusing on the interconnectedness of environmental, food, energy and water systems.

Preserving the environment of the Red Sea is a particularly important regional and bilateral issue. Prince Hassan and President Christodoulides discussed the implementation of the recommendations from last year's Red Sea conference, as well as coordinating with coastal countries for the upcoming general conference.

Additionally, both sides agreed on the necessity of launching joint efforts to address migration and refugee issues, which were brought to the forefront of their discussions, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
