AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan on Tuesday said that the region is undergoing profound transformations that necessitate a forward-looking vision rooted in cooperation and integration.
During a lecture at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College (RJNDC) titled "A Visionary Outlook in a World of Multi-Corridors and Implications for Human Security," Prince Hassan underscored that regional trade corridors represent a "civilisational project" requiring political will that transcends differences, alongside partnerships built on mutual benefit and sustainable management.
The session was attended by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti and several high ranking officers from the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The prince reviewed the paths of the Arab Renaissance and the structural shifts in global systems over the last three decades.
He noted Jordan's pivotal humanitarian role in the region, hosting over 53 nationalities, and its steadfast positions in supporting the Palestinian cause and protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Prince Hassan said that trade corridors are more than mere transit routes; they are tools for achieving development and prosperity.
He noted that Arab nations share a collective responsibility to forge a better future through secure regional corridor projects, including transport networks, railways, ports, digital infrastructure, and energy.
The prince further stressed the vital importance of accurate, documented data and statistics to enable decision-makers to address poverty and deprivation through tangible productive projects.
Integrated thinking "begins with the digit," the prince said, adding that the establishment of digital databases is the foundation for any comprehensive developmental survey.
He said that the success of projects should not be measured by their size or cost, but by their capacity to create jobs and enhance local production and development systems.
Jordan remains committed to improving governance and addressing humanitarian issues directly, Prince Hassan said, reiterating the necessity of cross-sectoral integration and partnership to achieve water, food, and energy security, while safeguarding the environmental ecosystem.
At the end of the lecture, the prince engaged in an extensive discussion, responding to inquiries from participants.
