AMMAN — HRH Prince Feisal, the adviser to His Majesty King Abdullah and chairman of the National Policies Council, on Saturday discussed with a delegation from the US Congress at Al Husseiniya Palace the strategic Jordanian-US relations and the recent international and regional developments, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The meeting covered the US assistance to the Kingdom to alleviate its burdens resulting from the current regional crises, as well as the Congress' role in empowering Jordan to implement its developmental programme.
Prince Feisal also reviewed Jordan's stance towards regional issues, including the peace process. He stressed the importance of exerting collective efforts to re launch Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations based on the two-state solution that can lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Prince also discussed the recent developments in the Syrian crisis and the efforts exerted to reach a political solution, briefing the visiting delegation on the consequences of the Syrian refugee crisis on the Jordanian economy.
