AMMAN — The Bunayat Centre for Special Education on Monday evening held a concert titled the “Story of a Melody”, under the patronage of HRH Princess Sarvath El Hassan, and with the attendance of HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal. The evening brought together students from the Centre and the Amman Baccalaureate School, alongside a group of singers and musicians with and without disabilities. The event created an artistic space that united diverse abilities and talents, reinforcing values of collaboration and equality that provide everyone with the opportunity to express themselves through music.
The concert was funded by the British Council, and was implemented in partnership with the Jordan Assembly for Arts & Disability (JAAD) with the aim of creating new pathways for cooperation between educational and community institutions.
Their Royal Highnesses’ support for the event reflects their ongoing commitment to education, to the empowerment of children and youth, and their support for providing platforms for community engagement.
The Bunayat Centre for Special Education was founded in 1974 under the patronage of HRH Princess Sarvath El Hassan. It was the first school of its kind in Jordan to offer both a vocational and academic education to young people with learning difficulties such as Downs Syndrome and Autism.
Similarly, the Amman Baccalaureate School which was established in 1981, also by HRH Prince El Hassan and Princess Sarvath was a pioneer institution in Jordan being the first school in the Kingdom to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. The ABS provides an education centered on innovation, personal development, and fostering active citizenship within a world-class learning environment.
Their Royal Highnesses’ patronage of this event underscores their continued support for educational and artistic initiatives that provide all children and youth the opportunity to participate, be creative, and express themselves in safe and inclusive environments.
