AMMAN — HRH Prince El Hassan Bin Talal on Wednesday lectured at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College, titled "A Foresight Reading of the New Global Geopolitical and Scientific Reality."
The lecture was attended by College Commander Brigadier General Khaled Bani Younes, Assistant for Administration and Human Resources Brigadier General Khalil Dajjah, the Chair and members of the Guidance, Students and Studies Authority and senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF).
During the lecture, Prince El Hassan presented his vision of strengthening joint Arab efforts in light of rapid global developments, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He called for supporting economic and social development funds, expanding their roles to become leading regional platforms, akin to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
He also urged for the creation of regional initiatives, such as the Citizens Council of the Levant to address the specific needs of the Levant and Arabian Peninsula.
The initiatives, led and organised by the region itself, would foster regional creative partnerships and promote cross-border cooperation, he added.
"Our region is deprived of an institutional entity to manage resources and the environment," he said.
The vision proposed by Prince El Hassan is built on key components, including policy dialogue, coordination and the enhancement of solidarity and integration within the region.
He highlighted the importance of integration based on mutual interdependence, warning against the politicisation of differences that could lead to conflicts and wars.
Addressing the situation in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem, he underscored the importance of Palestinian unity and strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people.
He noted that Israel's exploitation of the energy sector serves its military operations and its illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territories, which he described as a violation of international law.
