AMMAN — The Prime Ministry has circulated an official letter to all public institutions, urging them to commence the necessary steps to fulfil Jordan’s commitments stemming from the 2025 Global Disability Summit (GDS), following a letter from the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD).
The communication was directed to all ministries, official departments, public institutions and bodies, public universities, municipalities, joint service councils, the Greater Amman Municipality, and fully government-owned companies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Prime Ministry emphasised that each relevant entity must submit to the HCD an initial implementation framework, including the outline of planned activities, timelines, and required resources to ensure effective monitoring and execution of the national commitments.
Co-hosted by Germany, Jordan, and the International Disability Alliance (IDA), the Summit brought together over 4,700 participants from more than 160 countries in Berlin.
With a strong focus on national ownership and inclusive international cooperation, GDS 2025 concluded with the adoption of the Amman-Berlin Declaration and over 800 new commitments by governments, the private sector and development partners to accelerate disability inclusion across sectors.
