AMMAN — Prime Minister Jafar Hassan on Sunday congratulated Mazen Al Qadi on his election as Speaker of the Lower House, extending best wishes for success in leading the Chamber during the current session.
The prime minister also expressed his appreciation to MP Ahmad Safadi for his dedicated efforts and contributions during his tenure as speaker in the previous term, according to a Prime Ministry statement.
Speaking at the opening session of the Lower Chamber, following the inauguration of Parliament’s Second Ordinary Session, Hassan said, “I seize this opportunity, at the beginning of the new parliamentary session, to reaffirm the government’s commitment to continued cooperation with the esteemed Lower House, within the framework of the Constitution, to translate the content of the Royal Speech from the Throne, which we were honoured to hear today, and to implement His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives in service of our beloved nation.”
He also reiterated the government’s adherence to the vote of confidence speech delivered less than a year ago, underscoring its full commitment to implementing its provisions and wishing both the legislative and executive branches success in serving the nation and its people.
