AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) has reduced prices of 199 types of local and imported drugs since the beginning of the year.
The reduction rate ranged between 1 to 90 per cent of the original price, with 55 per cent of the drugs that incurred price reductions being locally manufactured, the JFDA said.
In a statement sent to The Jordan Times, the JFDA said the reduction included medications used for diabetes, high blood pressure, allergies, cancer and antibiotics among others.
The reduction is part of the JFDA policy that stipulates a price reduction of generic medicines when they are decreased in the country of origin.
