Press association taking feedback on media laws

AMMAN — The Jordan Press Association (JPA) on Saturday called on members of its general assembly to provide it with feedback on media laws and regulations.

This request is meant to follow up with stakeholders to develop these laws in a way that guarantees more press freedom.

During a meeting on Saturday, JPA President Tareq Momani briefed the association’s council on recent contacts with the government in which he outlined the demands of daily newspapers and media institutions.

Momani also noted that he called on the government to exempt dailies from taxes and fees imposed on production inputs and to reconsider public advertisement fees at these dailies.
