Power companies donate JD210k to Himmat Watan Fund

AMMAN — In order to fulfil the goals of corporate social responsibility and in solidarity with global health concerns, Qatrana Electric Power Company (QEPC), Amman Asia Electric Power Company (AAEPC) and Fujeij Wind Power Company (FWPC), whose major shareholder is South Korean government investment company KEPCO, have collectively donated JD210,000 to the “Himmat Watan” Fund.
The donation was divided as follows: QEPC (KEPCO 80 per cent, Xenel 20 per cent) with a donation of JD100,000, AAEPC (KEPCO 60 per cent, MC 35 per cent, Wartsila 5 per cent) with a donation of JD10,000 and FWPC (KEPCO 100 per cent) with a donation of JD100,000, according to a statement shared with The Jordan Times.
The managerial boards of the companies commended the Jordanian government’s “valuable efforts” against COVID-19, highlighting the importance of cooperation between the public and the private sector.
They called for an organised and collective international response to the crisis and affirmed their support and solidarity with the Jordanian people and government and the people of the world.
