Police detain suspect wanted for murder

AMMAN — The Public Security Department media centre on Tuesday said police detained a suspect wanted for murder, who also has a criminal record involving armed robbery and theft.

The suspect was detained in downtown Amman and a pistol was found in his possession.

Police also found several other weapons in his house, including an automatic rifle, five pistols and ammunition clips, in addition to some illegal drugs.

In another case, the PSD said east Amman police apprehended two suspects while reportedly attempting to steal a car.

Both suspects have criminal records, according to the PSD media centre.
