Police chief, UN official meet over advancing cooperation

AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on Thursday met UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu and her accompanying delegation to explore ways to advance cooperation in various security and humanitarian fields.

During the meeting, Maaytah highlighted several common priorities within the framework of the strategic partnership with the UN and its affiliated entities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Nakamitsu expressed her appreciation for the operational framework of the PSD and its ongoing cooperation with the UN, and commended Jordan's ongoing efforts to strengthen security and peace.
