AMMAN — Police, in coordination with the Association of Offices Recruiting and Employing Non-Jordanian Domestic Workers, arrested 17 domestic workers of different Asian nationalities, most of them fleeing from Jordanian citizens’ homes and working in unlicenced offices.
The Association warned citizens against dealing with unlicensed offices that can exploit runaway domestic workers and employ them on the basis of per diem allowances.
The association in a statement, carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Sunday called on the Ministry of Labour to conduct inspection campaigns on unlicenced offices and runaway domestic workers in coordination with the Public Security Department.
