AMMAN — In implementation of Royal directives, Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Wednesday paid an inspection visit to Al Jafr district in Maan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Beginning his visit to Al Jafr district, Khasawneh met with a number of dignitaries and representatives in Maan and southern Badia, where he listened to their demands and instructed the concerned ministers to follow up on them.

Khasawneh stressed that the government's duty and responsibility is to address the needs and issues of its people.

During the meeting, Khasawneh announced a Cabinet decision to enhance the conditions of land used for agriculture and farms in Al Jafr region.

The decision includes provisions for electricity and water supplies, among others, enabling local residents to benefit from the land to the fullest extent.

He pointed out that the lease contracts for these lands include a clear and explicit condition stating that the lease is linked to the completion of the settlement work, Petra reported.

The Al Jafr agricultural project was established in the 1960s under the directives of His Majesty the late King Hussein, which includes 40 projects and benefits about 600 families.
