PM, senators discuss coordination

AMMAN — Prime Minister Hani Mulki on Tuesday discussed cooperation and coordination between the government and the Senate in a meeting with Senator Hala Lattouf, head of the Senate’s Labour and Development Committee and its Rapporteur Senator Samir Murad, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, attended by Senate President Faisal Fayez, the premier said the government is open to any suggestions or recommendations from the committee to deal with challenges facing Jordan, especially regarding poverty and unemployment.
For his part, Fayez said the Senate is working to boost communication with the public and with representatives of development and service sectors.
Lattouf and Murad briefed Mulki on the field visits their committee made to various governorates in order to come up with recommendations to send to the government regarding the labour environment and social protection and to minimise poverty and unemployment.
