AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Monday met with Kent Masters, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Albemarle Corporation, the US strategic partner in the Jordan Bromine Company (JBC).
During their discussions, the prime minister underscored the significant role of the partnership between the JBC and Albemarle Corporation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Khasawneh added that the collaboration, which has been driving success stories for the Jordan Bromine Factory since its inception two decades ago, has boosted the factory's position as the second largest bromine plant worldwide.
The premier also reiterated the government's commitment to supporting the Albemarle Corporation’s planned expansion strategies and projects.
He praised the JBC as a "testament to the success" of Jordan's industrial sector, as it provides high added value to the Jordanian economy.
Khasawneh highlighted the government's initiatives aimed at boosting investments in the Kingdom, including the endorsement of legislation designed to regulate the investment environment, which offers incentives to investors and underscores the "promising potential" in several mining sub-sectors.
Masters, who also serves as vice chairman of the Board of Directors of the JBC, revealed plans to bolster the company's productivity through expansion, building upon the successes the JBC has achieved since its establishment.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for the Modernisation of the Public Sector Nasser Shraideh, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the JBC Shehadeh Abu Hdeib and JBC General Manager Samer Asfour attended the meeting.
