PM instructs authorities to be on standby for possible weather emergencies

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Wednesday directed ministries and the concerned authorities to take all necessary measures, raise readiness and maintain coordination to deal with current weather conditions.
Khasawneh highlighted the need for emergency rooms and specialised field teams to remain ready and operating in all governorates.
He also stressed the need to follow up on people’s complaints around the clock, deal with them immediately, and ensure fulfilling their basic needs in a way that preserves their safety.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Kreishan checked on the developing weather conditions in operations rooms at the relevant ministries to assess their readiness and ensure institutional integration and coordination.
Kreishan stressed the need for all parties, according to their specialty, to continuously inspect areas witnessing heavy precipitation and accumulating water, in addition to following up on the conditions of dams, ponds, valleys and low-lying areas in a timely manner in various regions of the Kingdom.
He noted the importance of catering for people’s needs, especially in regard to fuel needed for heating.
Kreishan instructed all relevant authorities in governorates, districts, and municipalities to fully coordinate and cooperate under the supervision and management of the administrators.
