AMMAN — The public-private partnership (PPP) council on Tuesday held its seventh meeting on projects in the various economic sectors, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The meeting, headed by Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, reviewed the implemented procedures and future steps to execute 16 projects under the supervision of the PPP.

Members of the council went over the challenges and obstacles facing these projects and the dates expected for referring them to the private sector to ensure their implementation, the statement carried by Petra said.

Proposals were put forward to speed up tender floating procedures, focusing on priority schemes that contribute to accelerating the economic growth process, the statement added.

To that effect, Razzaz highlighted the importance of following up with the council on the obstacles facing the implementation, so that the government can address them.

The prime minister also expressed the government’s keenness to move forward with the listed PPP projects, as they are significant to developing infrastructure and public services.

Meanwhile, the premier insisted, the point of PPP is to avoid incurring any additional financial burdens on the government.
