Planning Ministry, WB review work progress with Economic Modernisation Vision for 2023-2025

AMMAN — Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan on Thursday acquainted World Bank Vice President for Middle East and North Africa Ferid Belhaj with work progress in preparing the priorities of the executive programme of the Economic Modernisation Vision for 2023-2025.

During the meeting, Belhaj and his accompanying delegates were briefed on the priority features of the programme and the importance of the World Bank's financing of programmes and projects in the water, energy and green investments sectors under the priorities of the programme, according to a ministry statement.

The two sides also went over priority programmes and projects under the Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap, most notably those pertaining to digitisation, e-transformation and development of government services, which aim at improving the investment environment, doing business and promoting competitiveness.

Belhaj stressed the continuous support of the World Bank to Jordan in various fields and its interest in contributing to financing initiatives and programmes under the economic and administrative modernisation visions in the Kingdom with the aim of enhancing economic growth and increasing job opportunities.
