AMMAN — Water Minister Hazem Nasser on Saturday said the ministry has launched a new executive plan to develop the system of drinking water wells spread in the northern, southern and eastern badia.
The plan is aimed at reducing costs, controlling expenditure, improving services and increasing water amounts pumped in all regions of the Kingdom, especially in remote areas, Nasser was quaoted as saying by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The plan includes converting the power source of the country’s 15 operational wells into solar energy, so as to save more than JD1 million annually in operation costs, Nasser noted. He said the ministry had already installed photovoltaic systems in Mudawarah and Omari wells.
