AMMAN — The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) is planning a new comprehensive blueprint for 2022-2042 that aims to turn Aqaba into a smart city, Chief Commissioner Nayef Bakhit said on Wednesday.
During the inauguration of a workshop, co-organised by the Arab Smart Cities Forum, the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and ASEZA, Bakhit said that the plan to turn Aqaba into a smart city aims to reduce time and efforts and increase the revenues of the national economy, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the workshop, titled "Changing into smart cities: The best way to improve the quality of life", Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh said that GAM has prepared a strategic plan with related to the environment, energy, infrastructure and transport.
