AMMAN — A photo exhibition showcasing the friendship between South Korea and Jordan opened at Galleria Mall (L1), Sweifieh, Amman, on Sunday.

The exhibition, co-organised by the South Korean embassy and the Jordanian Korean Friendship Association and titled “Korea-Jordan Friendship Relations in Photos”, runs through December 18 from 2pm until 8pm (except Friday from 4pm-8pm), according to a statement from the association.

South Korea’s Ambassador to Jordan Lee Jae-wan said at the opening ceremony that the exhibition demonstrates milestones in the friendly relations between Jordan and Korea over 60 years.

The idea of the exhibition was inspired by the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries (1962-2022). “It is a symbol of hope, continued support and cooperation, and longstanding friendship that brings both countries together,” read the statement.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Ramsey Khoury, the chairman of the Jordanian Korean Friendship Association, said that there will be various activities to enhance Korea-Jordan relations in the future.

The Korean government opened its embassy in Amman on March 31, 1975, while Jordan opened its embassy in Seoul in February 8, 2011, the statement said.

Since the establishment of the Jordanian Korean Friendship Association in December 15, 1982, the association has been chaired by leaders from the Jordanian community.

The association aims to foster the friendly ties between the peoples of Jordan and South Korea, according to the statement.
