AMMAN — The Ministry of Planning on Tuesday launched the third phase of a loan portfolio for projects for military retirees at a value of JD1 million, with the support of the ministry's Economic and Social Productivity Enhancement Programme.

Inaugurating a training workshop for cooperative associations of military retirees, Planning Minister Wissam Rabadi noted that the number of projects funded by the portfolio is expected to reach 680 by the end of 2020, according to a ministry statement.

The first two phases of the project financed 430 projects in 2018 and 2019 through zero-interest soft loans, Rabadi added, noting that the ministry expects to finance 10 productive schemes this year for military cooperative associations and 230 ventures for military retirees to provide 375 jobs.
