AMMAN — The King Hussein Bridge has experienced a decline in its operations since the outbreak of the war on Gaza, Nidal Shamaileh, director of the bridge's customs office, said on Sunday. Shamaileh added that in October, the office recorded only 3,000 passengers arriving and departing due to the restrictions imposed by Israel, compared with 19,000 passengers in September, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. As for cargo movement, the office recorded the transit of around 6,000 trucks, significantly less than the previous month's 15,000 trucks, he said. Shamaileh also said that the border crossing had been closed several times since the outbreak of the war on Gaza, allowing passage only for tourists, embassy diplomats and evacuation of foreign nationals.
