Palestinian employment strategy meeting held in Amman

AMMAN — Industry, Trade and Supply Minister and Labour Minister Yousef Shamali on Thursday stressed the “deep strategic relations” between Jordan and Palestine, and the Kingdom's readiness to offer all necessary assistance to Palestinians.
Participating in workshops on the implementation of the Palestinian national strategy for employment, held in Amman, Shamali stressed the need to support the plan to enhance the resilience of Palestinians, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Palestinian Minister of Labour Nasri Abu Jeish said that the workshop seeks to boost the governance of the labour market, develop policies of the active labour market and match the educational system with the labour market needs.
For his part, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Maliki praised the Jordanian role in facilitating this meeting in Amman. During the partner meeting, eight agreements were signed with Germany, Morocco, Italy, Belgium, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA), the Bank of Palestine, UNDP and the government of Indonesia to enhance the Palestinian Ministry of Labour's employment strategy.
