AMMAN — Army Day and the anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt constituted the start of an Arab renaissance, and despite challenges, it also highlighted hope for pan-Arab unity, Secretary-General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs Abdullah Kanaan, said on Saturday.
The principles of the Great Arab Revolt, which was led by Sherif Hussein and people of the region, formed a trifecta of freedom, independence and unity, Kanaan said, adding that Palestine and Jerusalem are still the central priority for the Hashemites' efforts in defending and protecting the cause. Kanaan also extended the committee's best wishes to His Majesty King Abdullah, Jordanians and all security agencies on the occasion, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
