AMMAN — Oxfam has recently engaged several Syrian children at the Zaatari Refugee Camp, over 80km northeast of Amman, in a recycling initiative involving using discarded material to design and build toys, according to a statement released by the organisation on Thursday.
The activity fell under the scope of the "International contest featuring toys made from reused material", launched in 1992 by Oxfam-Québec in Canada. The project raised children’s awareness of environmental issues and created synergies with Oxfam’s recycling project currently taking place in Zaatari.
