AMMAN — Public Security Department (PSD) personnel have arrested an Arab-national for luring citizens into buying fake artefacts in Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday.
A security source said that Amman’s PSD agents received a tip-off two weeks ago about a group of people scamming citizens in the capital by selling them fake golden monuments and gems for high prices, and deceiving them about their supposed “great historical value”.
The source added that the security agents conducted an investigation to identify the suspects, and arrested one after raiding his house where they seized several fake artefacts.
