Oncologist Hagop Kantarjian receives honorary professorship from UJ

AMMAN — Oncologist Professor Hagop Kantarjian, chairman of the Department of Leukemia at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston, Texas, has received the title of honorary professor at the School of Medicine from the University of Jordan (UJ) in recognition of his contributions in the treatment of cancer and blood diseases, a King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC) statement said.
Kantarjian gave a lecture at KHCC, where he also held meetings with CEO Asem Mansour, Chairman of Medicine Hikmat Abdel Razeq and the medical team on ways to enhance the partnership between KHCC and MD Anderson Cancer Centre in the fields of cancer treatment, training and research.
HRH Princess Ghida Talal, chairperson of the KHCC, said: “It is an honour for me to welcome Professor Kantarjian to KHCC and we are enormously proud to learn and be partners with a man who is a giant in the field of cancer treatment and research.”
