Oman, Jordan to focus on economic cooperation — envoy

AMMAN — Oman’s Ambassador to Jordan Helal Al Mumari on Wednesday said that Jordanian-Omani ties will focus on the economic fields in the upcoming period, especially with Oman Vision 2040.

In an interview with the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on the occasion of Oman National Day, the ambassador stressed that the embassy is following up on investment opportunities between the countries.

He noted the various meetings held with the participation of businesspeople from the two sides. He added that there are a number of ready-to-sign memoranda of understandings (MoUs) that were delayed due to the pandemic. He also pointed to the "historic relations" between Oman and Jordan, thanks to the two countries' leaderships.

Over 2,000 Omani students have registered in Jordanian universities this year, the ambassador said, referring to Jordan’s “high quality” university education. He also praised the distinguished reputation of Jordan’s health sector, pointing to the visits of Omani people to Jordan for medical tourism.
