Olive festival rakes in estimated JD2m

AMMAN — Sales revenues from this year’s National Olive Festival is estimated at JD2 million, Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Shahahdeh said on Saturday.

On the festival’s final day, the minister pointed to the visit of Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania, noting that the visit hosted around 1 million visitors in total, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

“The success of the festival is an invitation to move forward in continuing to hold the festival, which supports local production and the growth of rural communities that constitute a pillar of the national economy,” the minister said.
