Officials receive US congressional aides

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Thursday met with US congressional aides and briefed them on the Jordanian reform process and laws designed to enhance economic, political and social development.
He reviewed the economic repercussions of regional crises on the Kingdom, especially the steady influx of refugees spanning a period of more than 60 years.
Also on Thursday, Interior Minister Hussein Majali met with the US delegation.
The congressional aides praised Jordan’s moderate stance on regional issues, and the Kingdom’s endeavours to achieve regional and international security and stability.
Public Security Department (PSD) Director Gen. Tawfiq Tawalbeh also met with the delegation and discussed means to enhance cooperation in police work.
