AMMAN — The government’s fuel pricing committee on Friday decided to lower the prices of a number of fuel derivatives for October.

The price of one litre of unleaded 90-octane gasoline will decrease by JD0.06 in October, making the price JD0.925, compared with JD0.985 in September.

The price per litre of unleaded 95-octane gasoline will also go down by JD0.06 to reach JD1.170 in October, versus JD1.230 in September, according to an Energy Ministry statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The price of one litre of diesel and the same quantity of kerosene will see a price increase of JD0.035 each in October, to total JD0.825 instead of September's JD0.790, despite the commodities’ JD0.110 price increase in international markets.

The price of gas cylinders will remain at JD7.

The committee said that it has referenced international oil prices to set October’s prices.

The committee also noted that the current prices of fuel derivatives in the Kingdom take into consideration that the cost of a barrel of crude Brent oil decreased to $90 in September, compared with $100.20 in August.

The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission on Friday also decided to maintain the “differences in fuel prices” category on monthly electricity bills at zero fils per kilowatt-hour in October, according to a commission statement cited by Petra.
